FAQ
What does Routes do?
Routes prepares a visa application. That means the route, the document checklist, the review, and the submission steps that apply to that destination. Routes also arranges travel insurance, a doorstep document visit, a video session, and phone assistance. The embassy or the government decides the visa.
Does Routes issue the visa?
No. Routes is not an embassy or a visa centre. A fee paid on the portal is for the Routes work and for official charges collected with it. It is not a payment for a guaranteed approval, a guaranteed date, or entry at a border.
Who is the portal for?
Individuals travelling on their own. Travel agents and operators who want a B2B desk for their customers. Companies and coordinators handling employee travel. Each one has its own account type. The file standard is the same.
When can an application fee come back?
While your documents are still pending, or while Routes is still checking them, and the file has not been sent to an embassy, a government, or a visa centre, Routes returns the amount it is still holding. After the file is sent, the application fee stays. The stages are on the Refund Policy.
What if the visa is refused?
Routes returns its own service fee for that application. Money already paid to an embassy, a visa centre, a courier, or an insurer does not come back through Routes. A re-apply is a fresh file and follows the same stages. If that fresh application is also refused, Routes returns the re-apply service fee.
Is travel insurance refundable?
Before the insurer issues the policy, Routes returns the premium it is still holding. Once the policy has been issued, the premium is not refundable. The cover itself is the insurer’s policy.
Can I move or cancel a doorstep visit?
Up to 24 hours before the booked time, you can move the visit to another date if a slot is open, or you can cancel it. A cancel in that window returns the doorstep charge Routes is still holding. Inside 24 hours, that charge is not refundable.
Can I move or cancel a video session?
Yes, on the same rule as a doorstep visit. Up to 24 hours before, move it to an open slot or cancel it. Inside 24 hours, the video charge is not refundable.
What is phone assistance?
A call with the Routes desk about the file in front of you: a document, a form, or the next step. The call does not decide the visa.
How does an agent use Routes?
An agent account is for the customers that agent is sending. Routes prepares those visa files. The traveller stays the agent’s customer. Routes does not take over the flight, the hotel, or the holiday.
How does a company use Routes?
A corporate account keeps employee applications in one place, for the coordinator and for the person who is travelling. Each file still follows the checklist of that destination.
How do I ask for a refund?
Write from your Routes account on https://routes.co.in. Routes reads the stage on its own record. An approved return goes to the original payment method. Routes does not pay cash.
